In case you haven’t guessed, I have been on a bit of a hiatus. At the end of August, while on vacation, we found out that I am pregnant. We were not planning to have anymore children, so you can imagine our surprise…which only escalated when we found out a few weeks later that we are expecting…TWINS! The babies are doing fine so far and are due in April, however; Mommy is experiencing terrible 24/7 nausea right now! This is the reason for my silence on the blog because for some reason reading makes the nausea worse! The same thing happened to me when I was first pregnant for Alexa. I could not read a thing because reading literally made me sick(er). I am still checking up on all of you and hope to be back soon! Happy October!
Thanks to all who stopped by to enter and check out my blog! I enjoyed hearing about everyone’s favorite classic. To Kill a Mockingbird was a popular choice … so I have chosen it as my next read off my project list…
The Freedom Giveaway Hop is here! Since this blog mainly focuses on the “classics”, I have like new paperback copies of Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express and Charlotte Perkins Gilman’s The Yellow Wallpaper and Other Writings to give away to one lucky winner. The winner will be chosen at random, out of at hat, from those that enter.
1. You must be 18 years of age or older and live in the USA
2. Comment on this post to tell me your favorite classic book and your e-mail address (so I can contact the winner) by July 7th.
3. Be sure to check out the other blogs participating in this Hop @ the site of one of the fabulous hosts, Kathy: http://iamareadernotawriter.blogspot.com/p/giveaway-hops.html (I tried to post the linky list via my html, but couldn’t get it to show up…)
Happy 4th of July!
Ahh, it has been in the high 50s two days in a row here in my part of NY and it feels like a summer heat wave! Isn’t it funny how 50s at the end of winter are warm and 50s at the end of summer are cold? All I can hope is that flip-flop weather will be fast approaching…cuz I love flops and cuz I want to show off my newest tattoo!
Yes, I am a weird mix of tattoo lover and book lover…lol!
So, as I stated in my “About Me”, I am challenging myself to a book project and corresponding blog. Really, this was inspired by Allie at A Literary Odyssey: http://aliteraryodyssey.blogspot.com/
I am going to be choosing a list of “classic literature” to begin reading. My reading list will contain many (of what I consider to be) standard classic titles along with some children’s literature classics as well as a few more contemporary selections that may be our future classics. The blog will follow this reading project; however, since I also plan to continue to read outside of my list now and then (such as books from the biography and memoir genre that I love), from time to time the blog will comment on other reading and perhaps life in general.
